To Magathi my dear little sweet lady

Why my daughter will be a strong women

I found the below article interesting article from link, loved it because even I had similar view. I changed few words and added two more points.

I always wanted to raise a girl child and the wish is now true. Not just that she will love me back when I am old, but she changes the world I am living in, she makes me stronger women, she makes me feel  I am beautiful , she reminds me I am a queen and yes she will talk back and stand for her rights. I am minding my language, my cleanliness, my dressing, my cooking, and my beauty because daughters are the strongest reflection of moms. You already a brave and active little lady achieving all milestones earlier as I feel.

Dear Daughter,

1. LOOK FOR SWORD NOT KNIGHT

Self Help is the best help
Conquer your fears and problems on your own. Being dependent even on your own soul mate brings down your confidence. The lesson learnt by me. Start with simple things. Do your own shopping, pay your bills, own a house. Boost your confidence and live a life without fear.
Every man and women has their own priorities to meet. When picking your sword is easier don’t wait for a knight.

2. DON’T BE A SLAVE TO YOUR BEAUTY

A Beautiful women should break her mirror early “ – Baltasar Gragian
You have nobody to impress in the world except yourself. Women’s body and beauty, goes through lot of changes at different stages. When it does, be ready to love even more. It has the magic to grow a whole new life inside it.
Let go off the feeling “do I look good?”. Start feeling I look gorgeous in my own skin. Wear comfortable cloths rather the ones you struggle to get it.  Get yourself more time , more money, be punctual, less stress, more comfortable , less clutter and discover whole new and happier you.

3. READ YOUR OWN OATH

1.       I will not let others criticize me
2.       I will stand for my rights
3.       I will be the controller of my life
4.       I will not beg anybody to be part of my life
5.       I make my own mistake and learn from it
6.       I don’t apologies for other’s mistake
7.       I will say NO sometimes
8.      I will choose to be with someone or without
9.       I will do something only if that’s making me happy
10.   I will not live materialistic life

4. WEAR YOUR CROWN

You are unique and one only piece in the entire world.  Don’t beat and pull yourself down for other’s judgement. Comparing a fish and monkey in a tree climbing race is stupid. Don’t be disappointed by comparing your real with others highlight reel. You are not princess, you are the queen of your life. Chin up, else the crown will slip.  Crown is not just beauty, it’s for courage, determination and discipline. Remember that and adjust your crown and remember from where you come when something pulls you down.

5. GET OUT OF THE COMFORTABLE ZONE

Do one thing that threatens you every day
The finest experience you get through this will make you unstoppable. The better place to learn is outside your comfort zone. Make a list of things that exits you, mark a deadline and conquered
Learn to benefit the power of the confidence. It may or may not bring success, but it gives all the power to face the reality.
Not everything goes as planned, be ready to accept what comes on your way and mold it as you want. Be daring. A stone can be an obstacle or a stepping stone.

6. RESPECT AND BE PATIENCE

Respect and be patience to others but if you feel that you are under estimated before male. Be brave and challenge your rights. I m not meaning to argue but you will face more people who will not understand your view point and scream to show that as if they are doing right. But be as polite and you can stand by your point. If still they talking crap just walk thinking they are illiterate need more maturity. Never use swearing words under any cost even if a person has done a mistake. Words spilled from mouth cannot be taken back later. You will regret for it. Let them realise their mistake. Silence is a source of great strength. Don't waste words on people who deserve your silence. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is nothing at all.  The only way to be near to God is when you control your anger. There is nonsensical saying in Tamil " Kovam irukkum idam kunam irukum" is that only for Male? Never know or no proven stories. There is also saying in Tamil "Patience will rule the world".

7. TRUST IN GOD

Believe in God. Pray and love him in your own style. No rule and rituals in following it is unconditional, no boundary. Don't follow any set procedures as there is no set procedures by god , they are created sinful human being according to their preference. If you dint follow that procedure and slightly if there is any change then it creates Negative energy inside you that is really very bad. Remember " No poison can kill a Positive thinker and no medicine can cure a Negative thinker" Prayers are not achieved without action and hard work. Do your best the return will be received at right time. I.e. You set your target then God will do benchmark.

Ganapathy Homam & Naming Ceremony on 18th Nov

Name more important and yes we also had a lot of arguments and compromise while selecting a name for our little sweetheart. In meantime, we used to call our little baby with a lot of Nick names Bangaaru, Rajathi, Kuttima, Jillu baby, Bullukutti, Jingulani, Pattukutti, Mumu kutti, Bujju. Senthil had a wish to keep Tamil name for our baby. Family members told to keep a name which equals number1 by checking numerology.  Below are the finalised names.

மகிழ்மதி, கயல் (Kayal), வெண்பா (Venba), Varnika, Varunika, Nethra, Mithra, Veda and Magathi / Mahathi.

If we think now it is quite funny things happened such as selecting a name by putting a lot in front of God. Senthil was interested in Venba or Magilmathi, but I was not interested as I did not have the impact on those names. I wanted to keep a name that should show the power, uniqueness etc.I was convincing Senthil by saying Mahathi (Ha) is Sanskrit, we can change that to (Ga) Tamil letter.

Today we did both the Ganapathy Homam and Namakarnam at Birmingham Balaji temple. Senthil had to write her name on Rice, say name Magathi 3 times on baby ear and gave her little honey. Followed by me and mum.

The priest asked me to sing a devotional song. I hesitated but mum sang I was humming behind her.
