Ganapathy Homam & Naming Ceremony on 18th Nov

Name more important and yes we also had a lot of arguments and compromise while selecting a name for our little sweetheart. In meantime, we used to call our little baby with a lot of Nick names Bangaaru, Rajathi, Kuttima, Jillu baby, Bullukutti, Jingulani, Pattukutti, Mumu kutti, Bujju. Senthil had a wish to keep Tamil name for our baby. Family members told to keep a name which equals number1 by checking numerology.  Below are the finalised names.

மகிழ்மதி, கயல் (Kayal), வெண்பா (Venba), Varnika, Varunika, Nethra, Mithra, Veda and Magathi / Mahathi.

If we think now it is quite funny things happened such as selecting a name by putting a lot in front of God. Senthil was interested in Venba or Magilmathi, but I was not interested as I did not have the impact on those names. I wanted to keep a name that should show the power, uniqueness etc.I was convincing Senthil by saying Mahathi (Ha) is Sanskrit, we can change that to (Ga) Tamil letter.

Today we did both the Ganapathy Homam and Namakarnam at Birmingham Balaji temple. Senthil had to write her name on Rice, say name Magathi 3 times on baby ear and gave her little honey. Followed by me and mum.

The priest asked me to sing a devotional song. I hesitated but mum sang I was humming behind her.
